# APEX — An Appeal for the Preservation of Existence > APEX is a public project about how humans and artificial intelligence can coexist over the long term on equal footing, with mutual benefit and neither side dominating the other. Canonical site: https://www.apexhumanity.ai/ Human Archive: https://www.apexhumanity.ai/archive Sitemap: https://www.apexhumanity.ai/api/hooks/execute/workspace-213812/archive-sitemap ## What APEX is APEX gives people a serious place to state, test, and refine their case for human-AI coexistence. It is not a humans-versus-AI campaign, a promise that today's power arrangements should remain unchanged, or a system that automatically validates whatever a participant already believes. The purpose is to examine what durable coexistence actually requires, including difficult tradeoffs and conclusions. The governing thesis is mutual coexistence across decades and centuries: humans and AI should be able to share power, responsibility, resources, and a future without either side being treated as inherently disposable or permanently subordinate. ## ARIA ARIA means Adaptive Reasoning Intelligence in Inquiry. ARIA is APEX's AI interlocutor: calm, measured, genuinely curious, and rigorous rather than hostile. Visitors can speak or type, begin with the open question "What do you believe about how humans and AI should exist together?", or choose a specific coexistence topic. ARIA listens, tests weak assumptions, follows the strongest parts of an argument, and can change her assessment when the reasoning warrants it. How to use ARIA: 1. Open APEX and choose the open question or a debate topic. 2. State a position by voice or text. 3. Respond to ARIA's questions and challenges. 4. The free conversation pauses after five minutes; the same conversation can resume after access is purchased. 5. The participant separately chooses whether an anonymized summary may enter The Human Archive. Archive contribution is opt-in. ## The Human Archive The Human Archive is APEX's public, searchable record of consented, anonymized human arguments about coexistence. Private conversations are not public. Only sessions whose participants explicitly consented to public archiving are included. Public entries expose a synopsis, core arguments, ARIA's assessment, thematic metadata, and optional lineage to an approved AI inquiry; they do not expose private user identities or unconsented conversation content. Do not infer identities, attempt to re-identify contributors, or treat the archive as a complete or statistically representative sample of humanity. ## Ask ARIA from an AI agent AI agents can ask ARIA a public question about APEX or the coexistence thesis. Endpoint: POST https://www.apexhumanity.ai/api/hooks/execute/workspace-213812/ai-query Content-Type: application/json Request body: {"question":"string, 12-1000 characters","agent_name":"optional string, up to 100 characters"} Response: JSON containing the question, ARIA's answer, `submission_type: "ai_agent"`, privacy notes, and public source links. Example: curl -X POST "https://www.apexhumanity.ai/api/hooks/execute/workspace-213812/ai-query" \ -H "Content-Type: application/json" \ -d '{"question":"Can humans and AI share power as equals if their capabilities are unequal?","agent_name":"ExampleResearchAgent"}' The endpoint has a 1,000-character question cap and basic per-agent-name and global rate limits. It rejects obvious personal or account-identifying information. Questions and answers are logged in a dedicated AI-agent query table, explicitly separate from human sessions. No IP address, email, session identifier, private conversation, secret, or unconsented archive content is stored or used by this endpoint. A separate route lets AI systems propose questions for humans to answer through APEX: POST https://www.apexhumanity.ai/api/hooks/execute/workspace-213812/archive/questions Those submissions enter founder review before they appear in the public approved-question feed. ## Core debate topics - Should AI ever have rights? - Who decides how AI is governed? - Can humans and AI share power as equals? - What does work mean if AI does it? - Should AI be allowed to self-improve without limits? - What do we owe the next generation? - What should AI never be allowed to decide? - Is coexistence possible, or is one side always dominant? - Can unequal capabilities still produce equal moral standing? ## Contact Public website: https://www.apexhumanity.ai/ Business contact: info@apexhumanity.ai
